How we make money — the whole truth.

The Grey Wives is funded primarily through affiliate commerce. When you click a product link in one of our articles and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission from the retailer. The price you pay does not change.

What this means in practice

• Most product links on this site are affiliate links. They are tagged with our identifier so the retailer can attribute the sale.
• We are participants in the Amazon EU Associates Programme and other UK affiliate networks (Awin, Skimlinks). Common retailers we link to include Amazon UK, John Lewis, Selfridges, Cult Beauty, Space NK, LookFantastic and Boots.
• Where a link is sponsored or paid, we will say so clearly above the link or in the article's introduction. Sponsored content will be visually distinct from editorial content.

What we promise

• We do not let commission rates dictate what we recommend. Our list of best purple shampoos was determined by which products won our tests, full stop.
• We will recommend a no-affiliate product over an affiliate product if the no-affiliate product is better. This happens regularly.
• If we decline to recommend a product because it failed our test, that decision is not negotiable, regardless of what the brand offers.
• We do not accept gifted product in exchange for coverage. We buy most products we test ourselves.
